This paper examines the contributions made by Kant that have shaped modern philosophical dialogues ever since.

The following paper explores how the whole scope of Kant’s thinking on ethics, on freedom, on responsibility and on morality placed him at the top tier of the pantheon of modern philosophers.
`Immanuel Kant, the greatest German philosopher of the 18th century and one of the most influential thinkers ` and arguably the most influential philosopher ` of modern times. Kantian philosophy (both as it was laid down by Kant himself and as it was elaborated and refined by the German philosopher G.W.F. Hegel) was a turning point in philosophy, establishing much of the contemporary dialogue on ethics. It was also the basis on which the structure of Marxism was built, for the dialectical method (so central to the theoretical and philosophical aspects of Marxism that was used by both Hegel and Karl Marx) was a direct descendant of Kant’s method of reasoning by `antinomies.”
