An analysis of the organizational structure of Zen Pacific Consultants using the Mintzberg model of organizational classification.

A study of the organizational structure of Zen Pacific Consultants, a construction company based in Hong Kong, which uses the Mintzberg model of organizational classification in their business. The paper provides a detailed analysis of this structure.
“One of the most important aspects of organization design is the ability to incorporate theory into practice. Management coordination like that of Zen Pacific stemmed from the theory of Mintzberg but its practice has been deviated from its original course because the theory could not provide for the need of the organization. Although, Zen have been able to meet external challenges and gained the top position among construction companies, one aspect of its organization structure remain distant is change. Organizations are not different from individuals. It needs assignment of roles, designed procedures and feedback from those working within it. Members facilitate these needs if coordinated properly. However, the collective outcome of organizational strategies depends largely on how receptive the organization is towards change. (Mintzberg, 1983). ”
